Our Intelligent Mobility Story
Our focus on intelligent mobility began on Day 1 in 1969 when we began as Roger Brown Sales Agency serving the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) industry in Minnesota and Iowa.
In 1976, William J. Schiltz purchased the company and expanded the sales territory to Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. Over the next several decades, the company expanded geographically and through acquisitions.
In 2024, MoboTrex was acquired by Warren Equity Partners. Today we proudly serve customers in 23 states and many locations in Canada.
1969
Roger L. Brown founds the company in Davenport, Iowa, providing traffic signal service and repair across the Quad Cities.
1976
Schiltz Traffic Control is purchased, expanding the company's footprint and capabilities across Iowa.
1982
Riddle Control Company is acquired, strengthening the service team and broadening the territory.
1988
The company enters the Illinois market, marking the beginning of multi-state operations.
2013
Eagle Traffic Control Systems is purchased from Siemens, adding manufacturing and distribution scale.
2014
Distribution operations expand into Texas with a new regional facility in Pflugerville.
2016
The company rebrands to MoboTrex, unifying its growing portfolio under a single identity focused on smart mobility.
2017
Mid-Atlantic coverage is established through the acquisition of RGA, adding Virginia operations.
2019
MoboTrex celebrates its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of traffic management service and expertise.
2024
MoboTrex is acquired by Warren Equity Partners, opening a new chapter of growth and investment.
